Dhammapada Verse 7

Pali: Subhānupassiṃ viharantaṃ indriyesu asaṃvutaṃnBhojanambhi amattaññuṃ kusītaṃ hīnavīriyaṃnTaṃ ve pasahati māro vāto rukkhaṃ va dubbalaṃ

English: Just as a storm throws down a weak tree, so does Mara overpower the man who lives for the pursuit of pleasures, who is uncontrolled in his senses, immoderate in eating, indolent, and dissipated.

This verse highlights the importance of discipline and mindful living, suggesting that unchecked desires and a lack of self-control create vulnerability. How can we identify and cultivate the inner strength needed to resist Mara’s influence in our daily lives?
